Compado takes the protection of users' personal data seriously and complies with applicable data protection regulations. Personal data are any data that can be identified with a specific person, e.g. name, postal and e-mail address, as well as usage data on this website. Compado processes your personal data only when permitted by law or when you have given your consent.
If you voluntarily choose to provide us with this information, it will only be used within the scope of the respective action, e.g. to respond to an inquiry that requires an individual reply, or in the context of an application. Disclosure to third parties occurs only to the extent necessary for carrying out the respective action (e.g. hosting/IT service providers) or if you have given your consent; details can be found in this privacy policy.
In principle, you can use our website without actively providing us with your name or other directly identifying information. If you find links on our website and on subsites that lead to other companies, it is possible that we receive a small remuneration from the respective company. This remuneration is not received for passing on your data, but only because the contact with these companies was made via us. If you click such a link, your browser will technically establish a direct connection to the target page; among other things, your IP address and, if applicable, referrer information are transmitted to the operator of the target page. We use a so-called referrer/affiliate identifier in some such links that identifies us (not you) in order to attribute the referral.
We do not receive any personal data about what you do on the linked website. However, we would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet, e.g. when communicating by e-mail, has security weaknesses. A seamless protection of the data against interception by third parties is not possible in this case, and the interception of data is beyond our control.

Information, deletion, blocking, data transfer, right to complain

Of course, Compado will inform you upon request whether and which personal data about you are stored by Compado. You also have the right to request that incorrect data about you be corrected, and that data which are no longer required as well as all data be deleted or blocked whose further processing you have lawfully objected to. A written notice to privacy[at]compado[d/o\t]com or the stated postal address is sufficient.
Complaints related to the processing of personal data by us can be directed to our data protection officer. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority responsible for our company (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin).
The GDPR grants you, among other things, the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), provided the conditions are met.

Server log files

We use this data to optimize our website according to the usage habits of our users and to prevent abuse.
For traffic verification and spam defense, we may additionally use technical checks (e.g. rate limits, bot detection, abuse checks). If personal data (in particular IP address) are processed in the course of this, this is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Objection to marketing emails

The use of the contact information described in this imprint for sending unsolicited advertising and other information not related to it is expressly discouraged. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam e-mails.

Processing of data by the widget

Our ranking widget, provided by Compado GmbH, can be embedded on external websites via iframe or JavaScript. When the widget is accessed, certain information is automatically collected and processed, including: name of the requested website, file, date and time of the request, transmitted data volume, message about successful retrieval, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, and the requesting provider. This data processing serves in particular the purpose of technically correctly displaying content, ensuring system security and stability, and preventing abuse. In addition, the widget may use cookies or comparable technologies to store or retrieve information on the device. The storage duration of this data varies: XSRF-TOKEN and top5_session are stored for 120 minutes each, while tokenData and user-related IDs (<user_id>) are stored for a period of up to 2 years.

Additional notes for users in the USA (US Privacy Notice)

If you are located in the United States, additional privacy rights may apply depending on the state (e.g. access, deletion, correction, data copy/portability). Some laws (e.g. California/CPRA) also grant a right to opt out of the “sharing” of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising).
If we use Meta technologies for marketing/attribution, we treat such a transfer as “sharing”/targeted advertising within the meaning of these laws. You can disable this via our cookie settings (opt-out or withdrawal of consent).
